Don’t ever play yourself, you should care about FTC compliance

The Federal Trade Commission has become more stringent with regulating FTC compliance by sending warning letters to over 90 influencers regarding failure to appropriately disclose. It’s important to know the rules if you want to advertise in the influencer space. Not complying with FTC guidelines can also lead to legal prosecution and paying hefty fines. In addition, non-compliant advertising is often seen as deceptive and can be damaging to brand reputation and trust.

Don’t trip, disclosing can be simple

Disclosures are verbal or written statements in influencer content that explicitly state the message is a sponsored endorsement for a brand or product. Below are a list of invalid disclosures to stay away from, and valid disclosures to make sure to use.
